Local-first & private​

Shopscout is designed to work completely locally and privately. You can curate products, create collections, and build a product catalog without ever signing up or creating an account. All your data stays on your device. You only need to sign up when you're ready to publish your storefront and share it with others.

Getting Started​

Creating Your First Storefront​

  1. Add your first product - Enter product details manually or use the browser extension to automatically fetch details from product pages
  2. Organize your products - Create collections to group related products
  3. Customize your storefront - Choose a design and branding that matches your style
  4. Sign up (when ready to publish) - Create your account at app.shopscout.com only when you want to publish and share your storefront
  5. Publish - Share your storefront with your audience

Using the Browser Extension (Optional)​

The Shopscout browser extension is optional but makes adding products easier by automatically fetching product details:

  • Install the extension from your browser's extension store (optional)
  • Visit any product page on any online store
  • Click the Shopscout icon in your browser toolbar
  • The product details (images, descriptions, prices) will be automatically fetched and added to your catalog

You can always enter product details manually if you prefer not to use the extension.

Managing Products​

  • Add products by entering details manually, using the browser extension (to automatically fetch details), or by importing URLs
  • Edit product details in your dashboard
  • Organize products into collections
  • Track availability and pricing updates automatically

Creating Collections​

Collections help you organize and showcase related products:

  • Create collections by theme, category, or season
  • Add products to multiple collections
  • Customize collection descriptions and images
  • Feature collections on your storefront homepage

Customizing Your Storefront​

Make your storefront unique:

  • Customize your logo and branding
  • Adjust colors to match your style
  • Set default product grid size
  • Customize page content
